As an interior designer, you're bound to come across difficult clients at some point in your career. These clients can be challenging, but they don't have to be impossible to deal with.

Here are a few tips on how to handle a difficult client:

Start with empathy: Remember that your client is probably feeling stressed and overwhelmed. They're making a big investment in their home, and they want to make sure that it's perfect. Try to see things from their perspective and understand their concerns.

Be assertive: It's important to be assertive with difficult clients. This doesn't mean being rude or aggressive, but it does mean setting boundaries and standing up for yourself. If a client is being unreasonable, don't be afraid to say so.

Communicate regularly: One of the best ways to keep a difficult client happy is to communicate regularly. Keep them updated on the progress of the project and let them know what to expect. This will help to reduce their anxiety and keep them in the loop.

Manage Expectations : Often times being a design professional we tend to forget that home owners won't be able to read the design file as we do , So meet the client on the site before execution and explain your designs in detail and give markings if necessary. This makes life easy while handover.
